Our Mission

Approximately 5,000 people reached to date

Our mission is to bring the love of Christ to those in Puerto Rico that are still struggling in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, which landed on the Island on September 20th, 2017. We do this primarily by bringing food, water, toiletries, diapers (for children and elderly), toys, and prayer to those families in areas that still have no electricity and/or running water.

After 14 months, one might be tempted to think that the worse is over and that waiting for power and water is a mere inconvenience, but when you consider that a person with a medical emergency cannot call for help, that homes are unprotected from intruders with no alarms and no way to call the police or 911, then you begin to realize the magnitude of the problem. These are just a few examples of many that make the situation in Puerto Rico so dire.

We can't do everything, but we can do something. Our mission is to come alongside communities where rescue efforts have been slow to arrive. Typically, poor area to begin with.

About Us

My Neighbor PR is made up of a group of individuals who simply want to serve God and His people. We came together after Hurricane Maria hit ground (and devastated a good portion of Puerto Rico) to help in any way we could. With God at the helm we established a 100% volunteer run and operated group, which means that 100% of your donation goes directly towards food, water, supplies, building materials and operational services.

Our administration office is in New Jersey, our short-term missions team is in Isabela, P.R., and our church team is in Quebradillas, P.R. (Iglesia Cristiana Bautista de Quebradillas Inc.)

From the very beginning of My Neighbor PR, we have been dedicated to bringing food and water to our most afflicted neighbors in remote locations. On June 2018 we began building a house for a family that had been living in an abandoned school since the hurricane. In August 2018 we started rolling out plans to put up roofs for our neighbors and exploring the possibility of bringing in medical support as well.

We believe that love comes with action. In 1 John 3:17 we read If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?
